Office News

Congratulations to Kyle R. Hegg, MD of Scott Orthopedic Center on his induction to the Marshall University Sports Medicine Hall of Fame February 16, 2008. Dr. Hegg becomes the seventh physician from Scott Orthopedic Center to be inducted. Dr. Hegg served as a team physician for Marshall University athletics from1984 through 2004. His areas of subspecialties are arthroscopy, sports medicine and total joint reconstruction. He attended Mayo Medical School for Medical School, Internship and Residency. He is a board certified orthopedic surgeon and a Fellow since 1986. He also is a member of the Arthroscopy Association of North America. He served as Orthopedic Consultant for the Huntington Blizzard Hockey Team from 1993 – 2000. He also has served as a consultant orthopedic surgeon for the Pan-American Games in 1987.

Congratulations to Dr Stanley Tao of Scott Orthopedic Center for passing the inaugural Certification of Added Qualification Examination for Sports Medicine in Orthopedic Surgery. This additional designation further exemplifies Scott Orthopedic Center's ability to provide patients of all ages with advanced specialized care for their orthopedic injuries. Scott Orthopedic continues to provide quick access for sports injuries through its Walk-in Sports Injury Clinic on Monday evenings at 5:00 PM. No appointment needed.

Scott Orthopedic Center is pleased to provide the community with specialized “walk-in” treatment clinics for various conditions and injuries including:
Foot and Ankle, Hand and Upper Extremities, and Sport Medicine (Quick Access Program) clinics.
Our Walk In-Clinics see patients on a first-come first-served basis and each is staffed fully.
